Odd. That's not what I get when I ftp to ftp.slackware.com and
ftp.slackware.at These are my results:

ftp.slackware.com:
ncftp ...e-9.0/patches/packages > ls -al openssh-3.7.1p1-i386-1.tgz
-rw-r--r-- 1 volkerdi users 628642 Sep 17 01:24
openssh-3.7.1p1-i386-1.tgz
ncftp ...e-9.0/patches/packages > pwd
ftp://ftp.slackware.com/pub/slackware/slackware-9.0/patches/packages/

ftp.slackware.at
ncftp ...e-9.0/patches/packages > ls -al openssh-3.7.1p1-i386-1.tgz
-rw-r--r-- 1 slack slack 628642 Sep 17 08:24
openssh-3.7.1p1-i386-1.tgz
ncftp ...e-9.0/patches/packages > pwd
ftp://ftp.slackware.at/slackware-9.0/patches/packages/

So, same size for me. I've also checked ftp.gentoo.no which keeps mirrors
of slackware.com, and the size is the same there
